R. Kingdom, Canada and Cuba will train together in Havana

The main figures of taekwondo in the United Kingdom will arrive in Havana on Jan. 9 to hold joint training with athletes from Cuba and Canada, local media reported today.

The Canadian team arrived in Havana the same day and is expected that training between British, Canadian and elite selections Cuba extends for about ten days. The only official competition is scheduled to take place until January 15 at the Sports City Coliseum in Havana.

The British counted in the 80 kg with Aaron Cook, world medalist and winner several times in 2010 by NOCA Steve Lopez of the U.S., five times world champion.

National Taekwondo, Carlos Bonasco, the presence of British and Canadians will be "Very important and beneficial" for the preparation of the Cubans in the face of the Pan American Games in Guadalajara 2011.
